一、cry的几种涵义

1.叫唤，啼声，召唤

例：The crow’s cry bodes rain.

乌鸦啼预示要下雨。

With a cry, she rushed forward.

她大呼一声，向前冲去。

2.哭

例：A nurse patted me on the shoulder and said, ‘You have a good cry, dear.’（名词）

一位护士拍了拍我的肩膀说，“愉快地哭一场吧，宝物儿。”

例：Linda cry all day and sniffle audibly around the corner.（动词）

琳达在拐角处哭了一天并轻声地吸鼻涕。

The child’s mouth twitched as if she were about to cry.（动词）

小孩的嘴抽动着，仿佛要哭似的。

3.抗议；哀求

例：以上二例句。

动词:叫，喊，大声说

例：Sometimes I heard wolves crying at night.
