>China sees 160m domestic tourist trips during May Day holiday
‘五一’假期国内出游1.6亿人次

China saw a total of 160 million domestic tourist trips during the five-day May Day holiday, down 30.2 percent from last year, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Wednesday.
文明和旅游部5月4日公布的数据体现，”五一”假期举国国内旅游出游1.6亿人次，同比变小30.2%；
Tourism revenue reached 64.68 billion yuan, down 42.9 percent from last year, according to the ministry.
完成国内旅游收入646.8亿元，同比变小42.9%。
The ministry said people’s desire for travel remains high despite the epidemic, as many chose to embark on short-distance tours in or near their homes. Camping trips and homestays saw a boom thanks to the surge, according to the ministry.
文旅部表现，只管新冠疫情招致出游半径受限，但人们的旅游志愿仍旧很高，很多人选择短程游，动员户外露营和乡村民宿升温。

我国在珠峰架设天下最高景象站

Chinese scientific researchers on Wednesday established an automatic meteorological monitoring station at an altitude of over 8,800 meters, making it the world’s highest of its kind, on Mount Qomolangma on the China-Nepal border.
5月4日，我国科考队员告捷在中尼疆域的珠穆朗玛峰创建了一个海拔8800多米的主动景象监测站，这是天下上海拔最高的主动景象监测站。
Including the new weather station, eight elevation gradient meteorological stations have been set up on Mount Qomolangma — one of the main tasks in China’s new comprehensive scientific expedition on the world’s highest peak, at a height of 8,848.86 meters.
此次完成景象站架设后，就构成珠峰地区8个景象梯度观察站点，这是中国在这座海拔8848.86米的天下最巅峰上举行全盘封建察看的主要职责之一。
Also on Wednesday, 13 members of the expedition team reached the summit of Mount Qomolangma.
当日，13名珠峰科考队员告捷登顶珠穆朗玛峰。
At the summit, the squad measured the thickness of the ice and snow using high-accuracy radar for the first time, and collected samples for further research.
除了架设景象站，登顶科考队员还完成了使用高精度雷达丈量冰雪厚度、收罗冰雪样品等峰顶科考职责。
>Migrant workers enjoy higher income in 2021

China’s migrant workers from rural areas enjoyed higher incomes and better living conditions in 2021, official data showed.
4月29日，国度统计局公布报告称，我国农夫工收入稳步增长，寓居条件改良。
In 2021, migrant workers in the country earned an average of 4,432 yuan per month, increasing by 8.8 percent year on year, according to a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
报告体现，2021年农夫工月均收入4432元，比上年增长8.8%。
Migrant workers in the manufacturing industry saw their monthly income surge 10.1 percent last year, NBS said.
此中，从事制造业农夫工月均收入比上年增长10.1%。
The living area per capita of China’s migrant workers climbed 0.2 square meters, to 21.7 square meters in 2021, and 95.6 percent of migrant workers have access to the Internet, said the report.
2021年，进城农夫工人均寓居面积21.7平方米，比上年增长0.2平方米，寓居住房中能上网的占95.6%。
NBS data also showed that the population of China’s migrant workers reached 292.51 million in 2021, an increase of 6.91 million over the previous year.
报告体现，2021年举国农夫工总量29251万人，比上年增长691万人。

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, a State Department spokesman said.
美国国务院5月4日表现，国务卿布林肯当天的新冠病毒检测后果呈阳性。
Blinken tested positive on Wednesday afternoon via a PCR test, Ned Price said in a statement. Blinken was fully vaccinated and boosted against the virus, and “is experiencing only mild symptoms,” he said. Price said that Blinken “will isolate at home and maintain a virtual work schedule.” According to Price, Blinken has not seen President Joe Biden in person for several days.
美国务院发言人普赖斯公布声明说，布林肯当天中午的新冠病毒检测后果呈阳性，现在症状稍微，将暂且居家断绝并长程办公。普赖斯说，布林肯已接种两剂新冠疫苗和加强针，已往数日未与总统拜登晤面。
